Craniosacral Therapy
Welcome to our hands-on craniosacral therapy, a subtle technique that utilizes light touch to alleviate pressure in the head, sacrum, and spinal column. This therapy aims to restore the natural rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid, crucial for the craniosacral system’s harmony.
The craniosacral rhythm is sustained by fluid movement within our system. Optimal bone, tissue, and fascia conditions support a normal rhythm, yet life’s stressors and traumas often disrupt this balance. Emotional stress, anxiety, physical trauma, and post-surgical changes can compromise this rhythm. Lindsay Harris uses gentle touch to assess and realign this rhythm.

Through specialised touch techniques, at Lindsay Harris Physiotherapy we aim to optimise the craniosacral system and overall body function. This approach involves mobilizing joints in the skull, spine, and pelvis to potentially normalize the flow of cerebrospinal fluid within the central nervous system. By addressing blockages, we seek to enhance the body’s healing abilities.
Therapy can address:
- Migraines and headaches
- Sleep disturbances and insomnia
- Sinus infections
- Neck pain
- Fibromyalgia
- TMJ (temporo-mandibular joint dysfunction)
- Post-trauma recovery
- Mood disorders, such as anxiety and depression

As qualified physiotherapists and craniosacral therapists, at Lindsay Harris Physiotherapy, we integrate these techniques into treatment sessions or conduct dedicated assessments and treatments.
The number of sessions required varies, typically ranging from three to ten. Maintenance sessions play a vital role in optimizing the craniosacral system and promoting general well-being.
